Texture. What embody the texture in itself. Can space be built only from textures? This project deal with question of arrangement and organizing space by usage of texture as building blocks to generate new space.
The space of “Namir” Bridge sculptured from textures that been generated from the site itself, to provide better and improved experience of existing space. Not longer plain and uninviting space rather than space of leisure, resting and relax.
In the origin point the project deals with the ability of visually represent the sound of wind- 2 things that is not actual. The main problem is giving visual interpretation to wind that don’t have an identity and individuality of its own, but exist only in someone else.
By capturing ruffles of water movements as a result of a wind blow it embodies the form of the wind.
Those captures/reflections had been taken during sequence of time, where every moment creates different shape that contain the memory of the change.
The result was combination of visual stamps in time that create a new hidden space.
The unique product that was produced in the mapping phase was a rich form that is also contains a rich texture.
Now the texture will function as building block to create new space.
Many questions of arrangement came already in early steps of the project, whether the arrangement should stay linear according to the way that they had been made (time based capturing) or rather just as building blocks that function according to a program that will be dictated to the nature of the space.
The decision that had been made is to leave the linear arrangement and to stay with the character and wish of the site. If then the project deals with adjustment of the findings to the site and not planting them artificially in it.
In this stage the program became the key element, it should contain the main characteristic that will generate the whole space. If than , the wishes to create the different space in purpose that no longer function as a fast walk through that reject human presence.
The new space should be inviting, comfortable and with clear relation to the environment- a place that people come to rest and enjoy.
Therefore the site was sculptured and designed equally according to the program and the visual esthetic that was created. The different texture now become a structural element like: terraces, stairs, sits, slopes of grass and more.
While all of those staying true to the formal esthetic that embodies in them.
The new site fulfill the need for relaxation place in the urban rush, a place that you would like to spend time in it rather than only walk through it.
